Description: The N.C. Cooperaitve Extension of Clay County office is holding a Hemp Symposium at the Community Services building (25 Riverside Circle, Suite 2 Hayesville NC 28904) on November 15, 2019, from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. The Symposium will be an in-depth look at all the factors involving hemp production and will focus on the rules and regulations for North Carolina Hemp growers. It will also be an extensive look into the research that is being done by North Carolina Cooperative Extension as well as a panel of Hemp Growers that have expertise in growing Hemp in Western North Carolina. Some of the main focuses will be looking at the costs associated, basics of getting set up to grow industrial hemp challenges faced with growing industrial hemp and also what it takes to become certified in North Carolina. The class is limited to 70 participants and the cost is $20 per person so call the office at 828-389-6305 to reserve your seat.
