5/2/2023 - The USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) published the 2022 National Hemp Report. National hemp acreage and value dropped drastically. The total value of hemp in 2022 was $238 million, down 71% from 2021. Similarly, harvested acreage in 2022 was 18,251 acres, down 45% from 2021.

Here in North Carolina only 600 acres were harvested in 2022 compared to 1,850 acres in 2021.
