Collapse ▲On April 9th and 10th, the Pasquotank Extension Center will be partnering with the NC Pesticide Safety Education Program of NC State University and the NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services Pesticide Section to conduct a Pesticide School for people wanting to obtain a commercial pesticide applicator/dealer or private (farmer) pesticide applicator license. On April 9th, training will be on the NC Pesticide Applicator Certification Core Manual. The morning of April 10th will be for training those people being tested on Ornamental and Turf Pest Management followed in the afternoon with testing. To register for this or other schools conducted in 2024, visit the NC Pesticide Safety Education site.
If you do not want to come to the school but are interested in obtaining your pesticide license the Pasquotank County Center is hosting a test to obtain a commercial pesticide applicator/dealer or private (farmer) pesticide applicator license. The testing date is on Thursday, October 3, 2024, and will take place at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Pasquotank County Center located at 1209 McPherson St, Elizabeth City. Testing will begin at 1:00 p.m. Anyone coming for the test should bring a picture ID and a calculator. Also, if you are taking the test for a government job you should also bring the address for your place of employment since it will be needed when you sign up to take the test. A review session in preparation for the testing will be held on Thursday, September 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Pasquotank County Center.
