Important Information From NCDA&CS About Hemp Licenses

— Written By and last updated by

12/23/2019 – On November 21, 2019, we posted information about how the new USDA interim final rule would potentially impact our state hemp program. As we stated in that post, there is likely to be uncertainty in the law for the foreseeable future.

In an effort to ensure that farmers are aware of the potential risks associated with growing hemp in this uncertain legal environment, N.C. Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services has written a letter with important information about the law for new licensees. We are also providing the letter here.

Read NCDA&CS’s letter.

Our goal is to provide as much information as possible during this time. Today is Dec. 23, 2019. We will continue to post legal updates as they become available.
